Ski Aspen - 2011

We took the "kids" to Aspen for several days of skiing. Lauri, Rachel, Chase and I arrived on Jan 1 for 4 days of skiing. Because of commitments, Bek and Meg showed up a day later for 3 days of skiing. We stayed in Aspen while skiing 3 (Aspen Mountain, Highlands, Snowmass) of the four mountains (last Buttermilk). Aspen is EXPENSIVE. Of course, this is by design of the rich and famous (didn't see any)to keep us "common" folk away. You know there's lots of mula when there a gazillion art galeries (most of which show "art" that is unidentifiable). We chose Aspen because it has a direct flight from Houston. Lauri and I do enough flying so we chose the shortest distance - a straight line with no stops.

On first day, Lauri and I skied Aspen as Rachel and Chase took lessons on Buttermilk. On the second day, all 6 of us where at Snowmass. Meg took a snowboard lesson. Day 3 was spent at Highlands and Day 4 back at Snowmass. Snowmass was the favorite by all - huge with great snow.

Note for the Record: Meg set the polar bear record at 11. That is, she rolled in the snow (in a bathing suit) - complete revolutions, before jumping back in the hot tube!
